The service runs on USSD platform. Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) channel read about USSD here. It is a communication technology that is used to send texts between a mobile phone and an application program in the network and works only on GSM (Global System for Mobile) phones.

How does it work?

You need to dial *99# from your mobile phone, wait for a few seconds and follow the next service options will appear  on screen.

*99# service has been launched to take the banking services to every common man across the country. Banking customers can avail this service by dialing *99#, a “Common number across all Telecom Service Providers (TSPs)” on their mobile phone and transact through an interactive menu displayed on the mobile screen.

The NUUP with USSD service works by bringing together all the banks and telecom service providers and lets a customer access banking service on the Unified Payments Interface (UPI).

Key services offered under *99# service include, interbank account to account fund transfer, balance enquiry, mini statement besides host of other services. *99# service is currently offered by 51 leading banks & all GSM service providers and can be accessed in 12 different languages including Hindi & English as on 30.11.2016 (Source: NPCI).

Transactions Limits You cannot make big-ticket transfers using this service. A Reserve Bank of India (RBI) guideline prescribes a cap of ₹5,000 per transaction per day for financial transactions facilitated by the bank without end-to-end encryption. ₹50,000 per annum is the max that can be transferred.

Service Charges:

There is no Charge or service fee charged by the system, but, your telecom operator might charge you every time you use the *99# service.

For example, charges ₹0.50 for every transaction. According to Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) guidelines, telecom service providers can charge a maximum of ₹1.50 per transaction for using the service.

Important Tips

There is no risk of this service being misused even if you lose your phone as the user will need to enter the UPI PIN to carry out any transaction. However, it is recommended that you immediately inform the bank and deactivate mobile banking services to avoid any misuse.

Also, once you have initiated the transfer of funds, it cannot be cancelled, stopped or reversed as the service uses Immediate Payment Service (IMPS) service, which is an instant inter-bank fund transfer service. I am currently using Realme 2 Pro and I am not going to be biased about the all new Realme X.  When I was searching online for a budget phone, Realme 2 Pro was the best bet for the price I was paying.  Now I am have been following Realme products since it came in India and has been launching phones on online stores and I am pretty happy with the Realme portfolio. The newly released Realme X is stunning on the looks, performance and of course pocket friendly.

What Realme has done great is the PERFECT PRICING of its products. That’s the key for any product to be SUPER HIT, or lets say HIT in India.  And this time again,  Realme X has launched in India with range starting from Rs 16,999 and goes upto Rs Rs 20,000.

I am amazed and impressed with the package Realme is offering with the new Realme X. Its simply outstanding in terms of the power, performance and the price. If Realme has an exchange or buy back program, I would go ahead and trade my Realme 2 Pro or other smart phones lying around in my house to gift my father this Beat of a phone at such a sweet price.

  • Snapdragon 710 Octa Core 2.2 Processor
  • 4 GB and 8 GB RAM options
  • Super AMOLED 16.59 cm (6.53 inch) Display  ( Without Notch)
  • 48MP dual camera setup 16 MP Front Camera
  • 128GB of internal storage
  • In-display fingerprint sensor & Face Unlock
  • VOOC 3.0 fast charging
  • Pop-up selfie camera

This device is Feature packed and priced right. The features in this range is not available at any phone at this price range.

Let me tell what makes this Phone amazing:

You will not find a Phone with In screen Finger print reader + Pop Up camera + 128GB of storage space in this price rage.

The phone has premium written all over it as its made of glass body and it looks great. Its available in 2 variants, 4 GB RAM and 8 GB RAM with all the specs remaining as it is.

Guys, I am really not going to write about the Processor and its benchmark and all other jargon as that really doesn’t matter for regular user. For in depth technical and drilled down reviews you can watch any of the You tube videos and read tons of other articles online.

What I want to share is whats exactly need to know for a normal user and how it can make your buying choices clear and easy. For a normal user this phone has enough juice to keep it running for next 2 years without a glitch. If you are really interested in reading about the processor and its capabilities, you can read about the Snapdragon 710 processor here.  The phone has 3765 mAh Battery. Realme is very generous with Phone updates adn Mods for its ColorOS.

Connectivity options on the Realme X include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, GPS, Bluetooth v5.00, USB Type-C, 3G, and 4G (with support for Band 40 used by some LTE networks in India) with active 4G on both SIM cards. Sensors on the phone include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, compass/ magnetometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, and fingerprint sensor.

Realme X runs ColorOS 6.0 based on Android 9 Pie and  is a dual-SIM (GSM and GSM) smartphone that accepts Nano-SIM and Nano-SIM cards. Available in Polar White and Space Blue colors.

Negatives :

The only concern/issue or negative about the phone can be non-availability of Expandable Memory card slot, that is we cannot use or add SD cards to the phone. Realme X has 128 GB as standard storage on both the models. The ColorOS 6.0 based on Android 9 Pie is little crowded with its native apps and the UI. In my Realme 2 Pro, I see that as a small hindrance and that could be the same with the Realme X.

My verdict:

Friends, as of July 2019 in the market of Flagship phones, Premium phones and ultra premium phones where the price and the performance is stretched way too far, We have Realme X  breaking all barriers in getting us closer to the best in class mobile phone technology at the price that its really hard to beat. All the premium features that costed around Rs 30,000 – 40,000 range has been made available with Realme X.

Just go for it and don’t break your head over tons of reviews and comparisons. I have listed out the specs and just all the right information you need to know about this phone. It’s the best premium phone that gives you everything you could ever ask for a phone at this point of time in 2019.

How to setup Remote Fingerprint Unlock

Setting up Remote Fingerprint Unlock is fairly simple. All you need to do is download the Android app, install the Windows Fingerprint Credential Module, and go through the setup process in the app.

Step by Step

  • Download and install Remote Fingerprint Unlock from the Google Play Store.
  • Download and install the right Windows Fingerprint Credential Module for your Windows PC. (Be sure to read the setup instructions and warning thoroughly.)
  • For the application to work, you need to install the Fingerprint Credential Provider module on your Windows PC (Windows Vista/7/8/10). Please choose the corresponding version: x64 for 64-bit or x86 for 32-bit Windows installations. You can download it here:
  • Open the Android app and go to the Scan section.
  • Start the Scan operation and let it find your Windows PC.
  • Tap on the PC you want to set up. You can choose to give it a name and/or send a Wake-on-LAN packet if you have the pro version.
  • After adding the PC, go to the Accounts section.
  • Tap on “Add Account.” Enter the username and password of the account you want to remotely unlock.
  • After you add the account you want to unlock on the PC, tap on the account name so that a (Selected) shows up after the name (see the last screenshot.) If you don’t do this, you’ll get an error message saying something like “no default account has been selected.”

Now, try unlocking your PC. Lock your Windows PC and you should see a new user called “Fingerprint Unlock.” (See the feature image at the top of this article.) If it says the module is active, then you are able to proceed.

Open Remote Fingerprint Unlock and go to the Unlock section

Scan your fingerprint.

TADA !!  If you set it up properly, you should see your Windows PC automatically unlock itself!

Being a utility app, please be sure to read the F.A.Q. as it contains a lot of useful information that may help you troubleshoot any problem that you may encounter. You can find it here:

If you have the PRO upgrade, you can turn Wake On Lan on by tapping on the desired computer and ticking “Send WoL-Packet”.

Being built with security in mind, the app:
• Can be safely be used on a public network (even on a compromised one) –all sent data is encrypted.
• Encrypts the stored information in the user’s computer using a unique key that identifies the app installation.
• Does not store any password in the Android app.
• Prevents attackers from also gaining access to your computer – if an attacker knows your PIN and adds his own fingerprint, the app is immediately notified and automatically invalidates its own key, which makes the stored private app information lost forever.

Be sure to allow incoming and outgoing traffic (both TCP and UDP) in your firewall for the LogonUI.exe process found in C:\Windows\System32. You will be asked at the installation if you want this done automatically for you if you are using Windows Firewall.

Data Loss on Windows 10  this October? Blame the update

Microsoft has announced to stop the Windows update that was rolled out for Windows 10 October 2018 that resulted in data loss for sporadic cases worldwide.

This was confirmed by Microsoft as posted on its Support page.

Windows 10 update version 1809 was the update that cased the issues of data loss as reported by several users. Users reported missing files soon after the Windows 10 systems were updated through its automatic Update system.

For some users who experienced data loss as they saw documents and photos, user profiles being wiped out. Behemoth of users stormed Social media platform to complain about this error/bug on the Microsoft support site as the issue seems to be grievous to some.

Data loss is indeed something to rant about.

The update was not part of the Auto Update which gets installed as part of Automatic updates and gets installed with or without user access as defined on the Windows computer. It was done by  users who had manually updated their Windows 10 computers after clicking on “check for Windows Update” For the users who wish to download and install the update manually, there is a word of caution and Microsoft wants to hold on for the update. Microsoft wants to roll out an auto update for the same and would be released when the Windows 10 October 2018 is released.

The new gift from google will be available on all compatible phones with Google Assistance-enabled phones and speakers.
All you need to do is to either specify the cab company name or simple say : book a cab to Pasadena and Google will display the pricing from all the cabs/ride sharing providers in your current location.
